Max Herman Maxy was a painter, scenographer and university professor, of Jewish origin. Among many achievements, he participated in the International Exhibition of “Contimporanul” group, along with Brâncuşi in 1924, he is the founder of avant-garde magazines “Integral”, scenographer and director of Bucharest Jewish Theater, Director of the Romanian Art Museum and professor at “Nicolae Grigorescu” Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest.
He has also developed a very interesting and consistent activity in furniture design and decorative objects in the style of Integralism – “constructive spirit with unlimited applications in all fields”, meant to embrace all forms of artistic expression – painting, graphic sculpture, tapestry, ceramics, books binding, furniture design and metal works. The brass teapot is one of the collections of Brăila Museum, which is a National Cultural Heritage
