In Romania, the first postage stamps appeared in 1858 and the classical patrimony of the Romanian philately includes stamps from 1858 to 1872. The “CAP DE BOUR” stamps were the first gummed postage stamps in Southeastern Europe. The first issue of Romanian postal stamps was printed on 15 July 1858 and entered into circulation on 22 July 1858 at the post office in Iași, and on 8 August 1858 at the other Moldovan postal offices. The series was printed in Iaşi at the printing shop “Atelia Timbrului”. In 1862 the Romanian Post Office is established, which will deal with the publishing, printing, marketing and preservation of stamps.
Among the stamps made in 1918, the collection of stamps representing King Carol I is found in 6 colors and 5 different values, with laced edge.
