”Zăganu” Beer – label
Category: Graphic design and advertising
Production period: 2013 – present
Produced at: ”The Good Beer Factory”
”Zăganu” is an independent 100% Romanian microbrewery established in 2013 by two young entrepreneurs Alexandru and Laurențiu. The story behind the beer started when they bought and renovated an old beer factory, 100 km north from Bucharest, in Maneciu-Ungureni, Prahova county. The beer made in this microbrewery is handcrafted, unpasteurized, made with friendly ingredients: water, malt, hop and yeast. In 2017, they opened the first ”Zăganu” bar in Bucharest, called ”The Good Beer Factory”. You can find them on Calea Victoriei 91-93.
At the moment, there are 8 people working in the microbrewery, under the supervision of the head brewer, Ileana Drăghici. They label the bottles manually and the stapling is done with a device activated by feet. The label shows the bearded vulture, a huge bird, whose wings cover a width of 280 cm and weighs 5-9 kg. Probably the most majestic type of vulture, the bearded vulture ruled, the Carpathian mountains for thousands of years.
